Food For Thought: Urban Farming

What is Urban Farming? It’s the act of creating food for people in need of it—by planting seeds in unused land and space within the cities.

Urban farming has originated in Detroit and now has spread to over 30 cities. The goal of urban farming is to help out people who are unemployed, or under financial hardship. The war on hunger is on the home front, by contributing your time you are fighting a battle to end world hunger.

The mission of this movement is to improve the quality of life in the city. For the past three years, detroit has played a major role in transforming the face of urban farming.
